So you’ll remember that something quite extraordinary happened earlier in the year, when we got invited to have a little fun in Sheffield. Well we pretty much replicated that exact experience just a little further north, when Argos celebrated the fact that WWE was in Leeds, so asked us to come meet Rusev. (Because it’s just one of those things we deserve to do).
As discussed over here, we got a new car. What I didn’t disclose there was that we went from discovering we had a 100% mash up car to having a new one in six hours, because we knew that we had this trip the next day. We had to get to Leeds, and a two-hour train journey (each way) with two under 3s had absolutely no appeal to us. We sorted things out with the quickness, so we could get this random Yorkshire excursion done.
Neither Hollie nor I have ever had a reason to stray in a Leedswards direction before, but another memorable WWE-based Argos visit definitely qualified as a reason to get excited. I’ve definitely not been watching wrestling as much as I was before, but Rusev is someone I’ve liked since he came around. He was one of the newest characters on the scene when I got back into it, thanks to WWE Network.
Cameo hasn’t forgotten his experience with Braun Strowman earlier in the year. He still plays with his figure, the car, and whenever I have Raw highlights on the TV, he’ll always point out Braun. In between Cameo’s heavy doses of Fireman Sam, I had been sprinkling in a little more WWE than before, and made sure he knew who Rusev was. Fast-forward to that day in Leeds and this guy burst out of a toy box at him.
That little Cameo of ours got to hi-five Rusev, before he gave him a WWE Wrekkin Performance Centre and (count them) figures of The Undertaker, John Cena, AJ Styles and Seth Rollins. How lucky is this guy though.
