It’s now fully established that I was slipping by taking so long to use an actual gym. The gains are coming faster than ever and it’s all thanks to access to better equipment. I’m sure there are better gyms around, but mine has all the things that I need to get to where I want to be. My home gym on the other hand isn’t close to having those essentials. Regardless, the things that I have got for it mean that I’m not going to let it go any time soon.
1. I Still Use It a Lot
It all comes down to this really. I still use it a lot, so there’s no point of getting rid of it. In fact, I usually do half of my training at the gym and the other half in my home gym. But I’ll elaborate on why I need it so bad.
2. The Space isn’t Good for Much Else
It’s not like we’re lacking in space or anything, so there’s no reason to get rid of the bench and all the rest of it. If we did have a need, we might put a little more thought into it, but we’re good for now.

3. It’s Practical
The gym I go to isn’t close by. This being the case, I have to be choosy about when I decide to go. With two very small kids at home, there’s a certain window of opportunity in the day when it’s fair for me to spend two hours out of the house to get to the gym and do my thing. Outside of that time, I can always fall back on what I have in the garage.
4. I Have Things My Gym Doesn’t
They’re not major things, but the little extras that I have at home allow me to train parts that I would otherwise struggle to (as well as I can with these specific things).
5. It’s a Work in Progress
The aim is to have a home gym that is as good as anything I’d get in a proper gym. And I’ll get there one day, as I add things little by little. If I were to get rid, I know it would set me back years, as I wouldn’t have the same drive to want to fill the gaps like I do now.
