It’s all Covid-dependent, but Cameo starts school in September. We just got the school place confirmed. Our biggest boy is going to be a schoolboy. That’s going to be his identity for the next decade and change. Madness! Cameo’s been in nursery since just before he turned 2, so we’re used to him not being with us for long stretches of the day, but this is obviously very different.
Marlo on the other hand has been with us every day all day since the day he landed. We’ve somehow figured out how to work around him (in a way that we couldn’t when it was Cameo and a newborn) so we’ve been resisting until it was time. Guess what? It is now.
It’s been a long time coming but now both Cameo and Marlo are now in nursery, and it’s crazy what a difference it is to actually have a free house (even for a few hours) literally so Hollie and I can just have a little stretch of time together alone and get work done. Why on earth didn’t we think of doing this sooner?
These boys are evolving so much and it’s so helpful that we can have them go to somewhere where they can learn from other people in their age group, as well as specialists, to get them on the level they’re supposed to be at for their age.
Two boys at nursery means:
- We can clean the house thoroughly in daylight hours
- We can actually plan things at times that suit us
- We don’t have to cram as much of our work time into our previous 7pm-10pm golden hours
- We need to get Cameo on the Boost Box more
- This is literally the last step before they end up at school
