Cameo’s first three or so haircut experiences were hell. He wouldn’t sit down, he was testing his shouting power and the barber’s neighbours didn’t like where we parked. It was a shambles and it’s why we waiting so long between each of his first few haircuts. It was just a mess of a situation and it wasn’t until Cameo went to my barber (around the time he turned 2) that the hair drama days were past us.

Between Cameo’s first haircut (about 18 months) and his first enjoyable experience of having clippers on his scalp, he evolved into a big boy. His hair used to grow in wild ways before we could tame it without stressful cuts, and we’re glad that was only a brief period in his life.
Marlo’s hair grew at a completely different rate to Cameo’s. Marlo just didn’t need his hair cutting for a good 2.5 years. It was fine right up until the point that it wasn’t.

Hollie completely disagreed, but once I decided that it was about time, it was happening. Cameo had a year away from the barber with me taking the reins with the clippers. However, I was fully aware that I wasn’t good enough at the job. It was fine while he wasn’t really being seen by the outside world, but he needed a professional on the case. Now was the perfect time to take Cameo back and give Marlo his introduction.

The first time around I brought Marlo to Cameo’s cut to see what the process was. The following time a few weeks after, Marlo had to follow in his big brother’s footsteps and get the job done. And he did! No tears. No complaints. Mr Man had his locks removed and transformed into my second biggest big boy. Welcome to the club, my second big boy.
