I dunno about you lot, but this lockdown feels like it’s come at the perfect time. Although things have been approximately the same for people in Nottingham since the autumn lockdown (as we were in Tier 3 afterwards) I feel like keeping everyone indoors through January was just what I needed, because I need this year to properly be about focus.
I need focus. I can’t deal with distractions. I’ve got somewhere I need to get to and this is properly the year when I line things up so that 2022, everything falls into place. This month so far, it’s absolutely going to plan. I’ve completely switched up my priorities compared to last year, and it’s properly going in my favour.
What was going wrong towards the end of the year was that, although I planned for it, I was taking on too many things at the same time. While I’m going to continue to have a lot of things going on, I need to manage my time in completely different ways.
I clocked that:
- I’m rarely getting through my daily Trello tasks
- Some profitable projects are getting sidestepped in favour of new, low-profit ones
- I keep getting to 80% launch ready on small earners that I could easily complete, but discover something new
- I forget to properly plan to have time to not do anything
In reaction I’m going to:
- Continue to take on lots of new smaller projects, but template so much more, so I can launch new things (especially blogs) in under a week
- Get into the groove of more daily tasks (one being a blog post before breakfast)
- Stick to set days for certain projects (otherwise I’d end up doing way too much for Amazon or one of my solid blogs, when I should be focusing my time on something completely different)
- Buy more ready-made businesses (as it’s so make so much more sense than starting from scratch in many instances)
- Making real time for thinking (because I kept lying to myself that I would do this every Sunday, when it’s properly been overtaking by domains)
- Invest more (because how can I not)
- Share more (because I’m doing things that I’ve been hyping for literally years now, it’s amazing, and so few people have followed in my footsteps and I can’t understand why)
