As discussed on a previous episode, myself and my now-wife have been together for a whole 10 years. I’ve been with this girl since I was 18, and she was 23. We’ve come so far as people and our wedding day was a celebration of exactly that. We brought together (nearly) all the people that have seen us grow through the years and partied it up in Chester. It was an amazing day, the food was bangin’, and the kids actually behaved. Good times.
It’s great to tick another thing off the big life accomplishment list, and now we feel like we can crack on with everything else in our plans. Before we do, we have to go and reflect on the decade we’ve gone through.

In the lead up to the wedding I decided that Hollie needed a series of year-themed gifts to celebrate our journey. There was one for each year we’ve been together – 2009 to now. I named it 10 Days of Thingies.
There were things to represent 2011, the year when we went to at least one music event pretty much every single week. There was a gift to represent 2012, the year which began with us in Times Square. There was something for 2016, the one where Hollie spent the majority of it pregnant.
Guess how many points I scored for all of these.
I’m going to have to hope that Hollie doesn’t read this, but I think I’m going to do a variation of this each year for our anniversary. I’ve already written down gift ideas for 2020, so there’s no turning back. (I dunno if this is sustainable once we get to 50 years together though, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it).

Anyway, back to that special day in August – I’m married. It’s real. It’s mad that it actually feels different, even though nothing really changes for us. It just makes us big up our chest’s more when we need to introduce one another.
“This is my wife” felt wild the first time I said it.

Marks and Spencer niced me up with a suit for the occasion. Considering how hot it was on the day, this linen three-piece suit kept me feeling good throughout. I only took the jacket off in the end because I wanted to show off how fly I looked in the wasitcoat. (I think it’s the first time in my life that I’ve ever worn one!)
Big shouts again to everyone that made the day go as smoothly as it did, and for everyone coming – making the day as fun as it was. Me and Hollie have actually decided that anniversary parties will be happening, but we can’t agree on whether 6 month’s is too soon to celebrate it. What do you reckon?
Here are some more pics from our wedding day. (By the way, the first dance song was Mariah, Joe and Nas – “Thank God I Found You”).
