Welcome to their World

You probably know Geomag for their creative magnetic building sets, but did you know they have a line of early years-suited magnetic sets too? I’ve tried out some of their learning-based products (including one based around numbers and another letters-focused one) and it turns out they’ve also got a fun construction version too.

The Magicube Shapes Little World set takes their standard version to a next level with new shapes and an even wider range of possibilities with what you can create. This is a 25-piece set featuring shapes of all varieties that you can make into whatever you can imagine. On the box it has inspiration to show how you can use the individual pieces to make a person, rocket, sailboat, car wash, lorry and even a dinosaur – make your own Little World.

The boys have gone through three different Magicube sets lately and Marlo definitely favours this over the others. He’s 4 and started school soon after his last birthday, so probably appreciates not having to have to put his mind to work as much outside of school than he has to when he’s in there.

A huge benefit for people that already have other Magicube sets is that everything is compatible with each other. They’re all magnetic so it’s really just up to you and the little ones to experiment with an figure out what you want to do with them.

The box suggests this is most suitable for those age 1-5 and I agree. We definitely saw that our eldest much preferred challenging himself with Magicube sets that have a more educational element to them, while our youngest just wants to play around with a few blocks and see what he can make without having to put much thought into things.

The Magicube Shapes Little World definitely makes for a great gift and even if this set isn’t quite right for your little ones, Toys R Us has a range of different ones that may be more suitable for slightly older or slightly younger children.
