I feel like it took absolutely ages for Cameo (4) to get into arty things. While he loves flexing his other creative skills – like singing, rhyming and dancing – he honestly wasn’t into drawing until very recently. Now he’s found his groove (which he regularly reminds us of by drawing PILES of pictures each day at preschool and at home) he’s absolutely unstoppable.
We can always do with extra supplies and thanks to a new delivery of goods from Little Brian, both Cameo and his ever-willing arty brother Marlo (2.5) can really go all out showing what they can do with his hands. This time around, they had their fun with the Art Station, before they got busy with one of the many boxes we have scattered about the house.
Since the both of these two were small, we’ve always had Little Brian paint sticks around. We all know what a hassle painting is (especially when your kids are small) but these things make it as easy to do as using crayons. The Art Station puts them in a different zone. We’ve told Cameo that he’s an artist now, and he truly channels that energy when he’s getting to work at his station. The best thing about it is that two kids can work on opposite sides at the same time, ensuring any arguments are avoided.
Hollie’s birthday is just around the corner, Mother’s Day right after, and Easter follows on from that, so we’ve got plenty of themed crafts to prepare for in the next few weeks and these supplies are really going to come in handy. From the Giant Stick alone (containing 30 assorted colours) they’ve got infinite options to get their ideas out.
These bright, smooth-rolling sticks make it easy to turn a blank piece of paper into a dreamscape in an instant. For kids this young, they just love seeing that their actions can actually make something happen. Sometimes with crayons and colouring pencils, they aren’t strong enough to get them to work properly, whereas they sticks are raring to go; younger children will have no troubles with them at all.
Little Brian Paint Sticks are a parent’s dream, because kids get to paint, without creating the hazards, mess or drama that comes with getting your proper paint set out (complete with rinsing cup, aprons, back up clothes for if they get wet and all the rest). I know that if you haven’t tried them yet, you would think I’m leading you on with a promise of “mess free painting”, but it’s legit.
On a slightly unrelated note, I’m currently working with one of my friends on her eco packing supplies business website and it’s made me a lot more aware of green matters, including sustainable manufacturing. I was pleasantly surprised to find that these paint sticks are actually made from recycled plastic. It’s just another plus point worth mentioning.
